Fall POETRY Activities

DIXIE POETS a chapter of UTSPS-Utah State Poetry Society will continue meeting the 1st and 3rd Thursdays from 2-4 pm at the St. George library in the basement conference room. Alma Richie is president. Annual membership fee is $25 payable to UTSPS (www.utahpoets.com) our organization for poetry throughout the state. For your membership you automatically become a member of the Nation Federation of State Poetry Societies-NFSPS (www.nfsps.com). Membership gives you two books of poetry and many other state and national benefits. Dixie Poets Chapter suggests a local chapter annual contribution of $5 which can be paid at a Tuesday meeting.

REDROCK WRITERS-a new UTSPS chapter that will start meeting on the third Thursday of October. Check out their website (www.redrockwriters.org) for more info. Officers will be elected in October. You are welcome to join either chapter (Dixie Poets or Redrock Writers) and attend the meetings of both as suits your needs and time schedule. Check out their Chaparral Poetry Contest at their website. Entries due before Jan 10, 2014.
