Come to Dixie and enjoy a fascinating workshop entitled "PERFORMANCE POETRY or PUTTING LIFE INTO YOUR POEMS" by Darren Edwards. Mr. Edwards has taught English composition, literature and creative writing at USU and DSU, is a published poet, and co-founded "Storm the Mic," a weekly open-mic for creative writing in St. George. His essays and poetry have appeared in a number of journals, and he’s been featured on Utah Public Radios literary program Synecdoche. 

Bring one of your original poems to receive suggestions on how to edit it for better performance. Then have the opportunity to read it and receive help on strengthening your presentation. Poetry needs to be read aloud to be truly appreciated. Not all poets are performers but everyone can gain insights from this fun workshop in how to read their poetry better. Lunch (buy your own) at a local restaurant George's Corner after the workshop is optional.
