Introducing the Dixie Poets

We are a group of individuals living in Utah's Dixie who love poetry. Any poetry published on this blog is considering copyrighted. Please respect that, but also enjoy our sharing. (If published online, many contests won't accept your poems as unpublished. So keep that in mind.)

UPCOMING POETRY DATES

DIXIE POETS are meeting this summer on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays-come join us! Bring 8-10 copies of 1-2 poems to be critiqued with helpful kind suggestions from our group of friendly POETS.

Tu-Aug 6, 2013-Regular meeting at the library 2-4 pm, critiques. Gary Christian will give a brief lesson on meter and accent.
Tu-Aug 20, 2013-Regular meeting at the library 2-4 pm, critiques.

DEADLINES for POETRY CONTESTS

June 15-July 31, 2013-UTSPS Panorama Publication-submit up to 4 published or unpublished poems for the annual UTSPS collection. More info in http://utahpoets.com, click on Poet Tree.

BECOME A MEMBER

It's quite easy, just go to Utah State Poetry Society's webpage and fill out the forms. Then send in your $30 to become a member of the state organization. We meet twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday at the St. George Senior Citizens Center on 245 North 200 West in Conference Room upstairs from 1:30-3:30 pm. During our meetings we will gently critique each other's poems. Bring 8-10 copies of your 1-2 poems for suggestions and feedback.
