MARCH-APRIL Activities

Tu, Mar 7 (and Apr 4), 2-4 pm DIXIE POETS at Senior Citizen Center  245 North 200 West in St. George. Mar 7-Lesson by Barbara Funke on Performing Poetry, and Apr 4-Lesson-TBA plus critiques-bring 8-10 copies of 1 poem  for helpful suggestions from the group. New poets always welcome. (Bring $1 voluntary donation for use of the facility-not required.) 

Tu, Mar 21 (and Apr 18) 2-4 pm DIXIE POETS at St. George Sr. Citizen Center. Critiques-bring 8-10 copies of 1-2 poems for helpful suggestions from the group.

Th, Mar 16 (and Apr13) REDROCK WRITERS poetry group will meet at Markay’s home at 7 pm, email <> FIRST before coming. All welcome.

Wed, Mar 29 (and Wed. Apr 26-cancelled) POETRY JAM at 7 pm at St George Art Museum located at corner of 2nd North and Main Street across from Post Office. Bring a poem about  SPRING in March.

SPECIAL NEW EVENT Mon Apr 10th 2:30-4:30 pm at St. George Public Library celebrating April-National Poetry Month. Joint activity-Poetry Readings with DSU's Creative Writing Club sponsored by Dr. Cindy King. Details coming soon.

Fri-March 3, 2017-POETRY IN THE PARK with Rosemerry Wahtola-Trommer, award winning Western Slope Poet Laureate from Colorado presenting a workshop on Metaphors Everywhere. Save this weekend for a Z-Arts lecture by our visiting poet on Th nite March 2 in Springdale. Details see

Sat, March 4- Redrock Creative Writing Seminar  from 9 am to 1:30 pm at Social Hall in St. George with three outstanding presenters: 1. Joel Long who will discuss Rhythm and Muse. 2. Tanya Parker Mills will present Finding Poetry in Prose. 3. Th, Apr 20th-Mesquite Fine Arts and Poetry Open House 4 pm (Nevada time) in Mesquite. Reception and awards given out, display of poetry and art starts April 3 at Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery.
